ONYX Spinner Pen by Kaiko

A sensory tool hiding in plain sight.

The ONYX Spinner Pen was designed for people who want sensory input built into something they already use every day. No bright colours. No obvious fidget shape. No need for it to announce what else it does.

It’s a pen.

And because sometimes the best sensory tool is the one that’s already there when you need it, ONYX quietly builds repetitive movement and tactile input into a functional everyday writing tool.

Discreet by design

ONYX is all black, slimline and deliberately low profile. Compared with our original Weighted Spinner Pen, the spinner section is narrower and more streamlined, and the overall pen feels lighter in the hand.

The textured spinner at the top gives a satisfying surface to grip and turn, while the spinning action provides repetitive movement without making the pen look out of place in an office, meeting, classroom or study environment.

Write. Spin. Hold.

• Write: functional 0.5 mm blue ballpoint pen for everyday use.
• Spin: textured spinner provides repetitive movement and tactile input.
• Hold: the metal construction gives a more substantial hand feel than a standard plastic pen, without the heavier feel of our original Weighted Spinner Pen.

Who might it suit?

ONYX may suit teens and adults who enjoy subtle repetitive movement, tactile textures or having something to do with their hands while thinking, listening, working or studying.

It may also suit people who prefer sensory tools that blend naturally into everyday environments. Because sometimes the best sensory support is the one you can use without having to explain it.

Helpful to know

The ONYX Spinner Pen is intentionally lighter and more streamlined than our original Weighted Spinner Pen. Some people prefer the extra weight of the original. Others immediately prefer the slimmer ONYX profile. In testing, there was no clear winner, which is exactly why we kept both.

The spinner is designed for subtle repetitive movement rather than dramatic high-speed spinning. The textured surface also adds tactile feedback while you turn or hold it.

It doesn’t need to announce what else it does. It’s a pen.
